Conejos y ovejas modificados con edición genética en China sufrieron efectos secundarios totalmente inesperados, como tener lenguas más largas y vértebras demás. Terneros modificados con este tipo de técnicas en Brasil y Nueva Zelanda enfermaron y murieron prematuramente. Crece la lista de impactos imprevistos de esas tecnologías de ingeniería genética.

Target Malaria, a research consortium that aims to eradicate malaria-carrying species of mosquitoes using new genetic modification tools, does not have proper consent from communities for its experiment. That is the main message of a new short film that is being released this week.
“A Question of Consent: Exterminator Mosquitoes in Burkina Faso” documents conversations with residents of the areas where Target Malaria is conducting tests, as well as opposition from civil society groups in the region.

finales de noviembre 2018 el investigador chino He Jiankui anunció el nacimiento de gemelas genéticamente modificadas, producto de su experimentación. He, de la Universidad de Ciencias y Tecnologías del Sur de Shenzhen, China, alteró el ADN de dos embriones sanos, luego de su fertilización in vitro, usando la técnica de ingeniería genética Crispr-Cas9, supuestamente para hacerlas inmunes al VIH (virus del Sida).

L’histoire se répète
Il y a maintenant vingt ans, le Groupe ETC a découvert un brevet étasunien sur les technologies surnommées depuis lors « technologies terminator » — des semences génétiquement modifiées qui font que les agriculteurs ne peuvent ni conserver ni assurer la reproduction des semences. La société civile et les mouvements paysans ont protesté contre le fait que ces semences-suicide menaçaient des pratiques de conservation des semences aussi anciennes que l’agriculture.

Le forçage génétique est une nouvelle technologie qui permet de modi er génétiquement des populations entières. Tous les êtres vivants sont concernés, insectes, plantes, animaux.... Cette technologie invasive constitue une tentative délibérée pour créer de nouvelles formes de pollution génétique : extinction d’espèces entières ; mise en danger des formes d’agriculture et de nourriture durables et équitables.
