This new report by ETC Group and GRAIN reveals just how extreme this corporate control has become. It examines the state of corporate concentration in six sectors critical to agriculture: commercial seeds, pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, farm machinery, animal pharmaceuticals and livestock genetics.

Civil Society Urges Governments to Protect Oceans From Geoengineering Threats
On the occasion of the United Nations Oceans Conference the Hands Off Mother Earth! (HOME) Alliance, including ETC Group, is calling on governments to take decisive action to safeguard ocean ecosystems from the growing threat of marine geoengineering. Civil society, including climate justice groups, Indigenous Peoples Organizations, human rights and grassroots groups are urging governments to take action to halt any ongoing current or planned marine geoengineering experiments.

It was the culmination of a series of workshops organised by the National Fishworkers Forum (NFF), along with other fisher people's unions, in an effort to implement the 2017 World Forum of Fisher Peoples’ (WFFP) General Assembly’s decision to have more women’s representation in fishworkers’ unions.

Biodiversidad, sustento y culturas continúa la conversación sobre lo que significa una soberanía alimentaria. Sabemos que implica batallas simultáneas. Producir alimentos propios no basta. Tenemos que determinar en qué condiciones producimos alimentos, cuidamos nuestras semillas.

Necesitamos la fuerza de la historia propia para transformar nuestra condición y al reivindicar esa historia, “no podemos olvidar nuestra relación con las semillas”, como ya dijo Camila Montecinos.
