Zahra Moloo is an investigative journalist, documentary filmmaker and researcher from Kenya, currently based in Montreal. Her work focuses on the extractive industries, land rights, conservation and security. Previously, she worked as a journalist and producer for the Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN), for the Right Livelihood Award Foundation, and as a coordinator for a new documentary oranization in Africa. Her articles and films have appeared in numerous media outlets including Al Jazeera, BBC Focus on Africa magazine, IPS News, CCTV’s Faces of Africa, Africa is a Country, CBC and the Jacobin. Recently, she was a researcher and director with CBC’s Emmy-nominated documentary series Interrupt this Program. She is currently working on a feature documentary about conservation in East and Central Africa.
